GRAND CHUTE — The Eau Claire North baseball team scored plenty of runs on its way to the WIAA Division 1 state championship game on Tuesday.

The Huskies (25-4) used a five-run third inning to build an 8-4 victory over Fond du Lac (14-13) in a semifinal game, earning a spot in the final for the first time since winning the championship in 2011.

The Demons scored three unearned runs in the top of the third inning and rode the two-hit, nine-strikeout pitching of Trey Krause to a victory over the top-seeded Hornets (24-4).

A walk, two errors and RBI singles by Krause and Trent Turzenski produced the third-inning rally and forced Preble starter Max Wagner to take the loss despite allowing only four hits, all singles. He struck out four.
